After graduating, Jim wasted no time in getting to work in the industry and joined General Electric as an Account Executive located just outside of Washington, DC.  GE Global Exchange Services was right in the middle of the late 90s dot-com bubble offering companies like Ebay a platform to run their e-commerce businesses.  After three loyal years serving GE and his clients, Jim heard the calling of the West Coast and packed his belongings to move to Los Angeles in the Summer of 2002. 

Shortly after settling into his new home, Jim came upon an SEO start up working out of an apartment in Marina Del Rey.  Joining a new and small company after working for one of the biggest companies in the world was a huge risk but Jim felt it was one worth taking.  The risk paid off as not only did the companys offerings help hundreds of businesses make more money by ranking higher in Google, but Jim got hands on experience in SEO, Paid Search, and Affiliate Marketing.  The company ended up going public in January 2005, but like so many other companies in this space, things did not work out in the long run. 

Jims next challenge was to work directly for an online advertiser.
Intermixs Alena division was the exclusive online marketer for a host of health and beauty products such as Hydroderm.  Jim managed all of the paid search, email, and portal relationships and his profit margins led the company throughout his time there. 

Jim then left Alena to join Traffic Marketplace as a Media Buyer.  Within six months, Jim was promoted to the Director of Online Media position.  In the two years he held that job, he helped increase TMPs Comscore reach from 90MM to 147MM unique users, doubled the companys media margin, and started a 2nd tier network for direct response advertisers.
