Don’t Forget the Blog

Posted by Craig | 10.07.09

In our SEO-crazed frenzy to optimize our websites, we sometimes neglect a crucial element of a full-service web operation: the blog. What’s so great about blogs? Blogs are the very definition of fresh content. When people hop onto the web, they want to see what’s new. Let’s face it: your website promotes the same things every time someone logs on. It features your brand, it offers your goods or services. Unless you are reinventing yourself on a daily basis, there’s not much new happening day-to-day.

The Blog Keeps it Fresh

Except, of course, on your blog. A blog is the opportunity to keep your site fresh and keep people wanting to visit. It’s also the opportunity for your and your employees to connect with potential clients. You can let them know what you are thinking, what you are wondering about what they are thinking, and more.  You can let potential customers know what’s in the pipeline but not ready to be introduced on the website, and you can give them tips and tricks to help them more effectively use what you have to offer.

Give the Blog Some Love

If you’ve been neglecting your website's blog, give it some love. You may find that not only do your traffic and conversions increase, but you have a fun opportunity to use a sounding board and interact with your consumers as well.
