Who said Baby Boomers were Cranky?

Who said Baby Boomers were Cranky?

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

Recently I’ve been doing some research within the Baby Boomer Marketplace searching for hidden opportunities and remembered reading about a new search engine that was launching geared towards the Baby Boomers of the world.

CRANKY!

Upon first glance of the Top 10 searches today that are updated regularly it doesn’t seem that they are too cranky at all. ;)

1) sex

2) make new friends

3) & 4) jobs after retirement - (not sure why it lists the same search twice)

5) brain builders

6) romantic escapes

7) travel

8) discounts

9) work from home

10) wallpapers

I went ahead and clicked on Make New Friends and it pulled up a very clean search page.  It offers the user a chance to narrow or expand their search with 4 options for each which is pretty cool. There were the typical sponsored links… search engines are of course “for profit” business models and they also provide a link labeled Eons LifeDreams: Make New Friends

As a first time user of this site and someone that is naturally curious I decide to click this link.  Upon first glance I see that it’s a tool that Cranky/Eons has put in place to help connect people within the search usership.  Good Concept…  I’m not sure how it will do with the user base but I’ll be the first in line to see a case study developed.

I do like how it provides relevant content to the topic that was searched and ties it into other areas of the site.  You are able to join relevant groupsrespond to relevant blog postings and develop your own list of “LifeDreams” once you set up an account of course…

I think the coolest part of this site is that it allows you the option of increasing the font size to a remarkable Font 16.  I will definitely recommend this new search engine to my not so savvy family members that just happen to fit the demographics.

Good Stuff Cranky… Keep it up!
