Track your favorite blog topics with Google Blog Alerts.

Posted by: Stephen Hawke | 2006-10-29 16:00:00 | Posted in: SEM Info

Users now have the ability to track their favorite blog topics using the Google Alert tool.  Previously users were only able to track News, Groups and the web.

This blog affirmation by Google is great for everyone involved.  The world has clearly fallen in love with blogs and it makes our lives easier to have our favorite topics sent to our email every day.

For those of us that need reassurance that Blogs are valuable pieces of Organic Real Estate, I’ve found some great stats from last year.  I tried to find some recent statistics but came across a helpful Q&A within Google Answers:

How many people read blogs?

Here is the statistic that really caught my eye:

“Blog readers average 23 hours online per
week, compared with the overall Web user’s average of 13 hours.” - Clickz: August 2005.

You know blogging has become popular when you hear congressional candidates calling their opponents out on CNN for only posting 145 words on debate topic.

WOW…
