The gaming wars officially launched 9/9/99. That's right, taking it back to the Dreamcast, Sega's little system that almost could. Sony then entered the marketplace with the PlayStation one and Nintendo was still struggling with the N64. Fast forward, the Dreamcast died, the N64 went the way of the dodo and the PS1 ruled the day.

Enter the next generation, the PS2 dominated the GameCube, Nintendo's little system that almost could and Microsoft made their debut onto the gaming scene. Sony was definitely riding high and ready to crush the completion of the next round, but Microsoft and Nintendo had different ideas.

In the current generation, Microsoft burst out of the gates a year before everyone else with the 360 and Nintendo made some magic with the Wii while Sony is still struggling with the PS3.

What does this all mean? It means that video games are now a big part of the global consciousness and people are constantly looking for the newest and most exciting news from the gaming industry.
